I developed a font with swirls & flourishes a couple of years ago & have started using it to create words with which I embellish cushion covers . I started with the obvious one first - "Love". After suggestions from friends I added "Home" and the all important "Tea" & "Cake"!
I first draw the letters and their flourises onto card, getting the proportions right, then I trace onto freezer paper - not having access to screenprint facilities. I must get that sorted! Then I cut the letters and flourishes out, using a very sharp scalpel. The paper is then ironed onto the natural linen & the fabric paint applied. I like to do negatives too, so I keep all the letters & flourishes that survive the cutting process.
There is a zip in the back & the cushions measure 14" square. I will be putting these onto my Etsy shop soon.
